Terms of Service

You must be 18 or older to use Petals.

Petals is for two adults in a relationship who both choose to use it. It is not a tool for monitoring, testing or pressuring a partner.

Each night there is one question. You and your partner answer privately, and your answers are revealed once you have both answered. Petals also includes daily dares, an attachment portrait and optional AI reflections.

You connect with your partner using an invite code. Share your code only with your partner.

We may change, add or remove features as we improve Petals.

• One subscription covers both partners — when one of you subscribes, both of you get premium access while your accounts are connected in Petals. If the connection ends, premium access stays with the partner who pays.
• Free trial — if a free trial is offered, its length is shown before you confirm. Unless you cancel at least 24 hours before the trial ends, the paid subscription starts and you are charged. Any unused part of a free trial ends when you buy a subscription.
• Auto-renewal — subscriptions renew automatically for the same period and at the price shown at purchase, unless you cancel at least 24 hours before the end of the current period. Your App Store or Google Play account is charged within the 24 hours before renewal.
• Canceling — on iPhone: Settings › [your name] › Subscriptions. On Android: Google Play › Profile › Payments & subscriptions › Subscriptions. Cancellation takes effect at the end of the current period. Deleting the app or your Petals account does not cancel your subscription.
• Payments and refunds — payments are processed by Apple or Google, and refunds are handled by them under their policies. We cannot issue refunds directly.
• Price changes — we will tell you about price changes in advance, as the App Store or Google Play requires.

Petals is for connection and entertainment. It is not therapy, couples counseling, medical or psychological treatment, or professional advice, and it does not diagnose anything. AI reflections are the same: something to think about, not advice.

If you are in crisis, feel unsafe, or are experiencing abuse or violence, please contact local emergency services or a qualified professional. Petals is not designed for these situations.

Some questions touch on sensitive or intimate topics. You decide how deep to go: intimate content can be limited in Settings › Comfort & Safety, and you never have to answer anything.

AI reflections are optional and stay off until you allow them. They are written by an AI model and may be inaccurate or incomplete. How your data is used for them is described in the Privacy Policy.

You own what you write in Petals. You give us permission to store, process and display it only to run Petals: that includes showing your answers to your partner after you have both answered and, if you allow it, sending them to our AI provider for your reflections.

You are responsible for what you write. Your partner will read it.

When using Petals, do not:

• use Petals if you are under 18;
• use Petals to harass, threaten, coerce, monitor or control another person;
• share content that is illegal or infringes someone else's rights;
• try to access other people's accounts or data, or interfere with the service;
• copy, scrape, resell or reverse engineer the app or its questions and dares, except where the law allows it.

The Petals app, name, design, questions and dares belong to us or our licensors. You may use them within Petals for your personal, non-commercial use.

If you downloaded Petals from the Apple App Store, Apple's Licensed Application End User License Agreement also applies, and Apple is not responsible for Petals or its support. If you downloaded it from Google Play, Google Play's terms also apply.

You can stop using Petals at any time and delete your account in Settings › Privacy › Delete Account, or through our account deletion page. Deletion permanently removes your data as described in the Privacy Policy.

We may suspend or close accounts that break these terms.

Petals is provided "as is". To the extent the law allows, we are not liable for indirect or consequential loss, or for what users write to each other.

Nothing in these terms limits rights you have under mandatory consumer law in your country, or any liability that cannot be limited by law.

We may update these terms. For significant changes, we will tell you in the app before they take effect. If you keep using Petals after that, the updated terms apply.

These Terms are governed by the laws of the Republic of Croatia, and the courts of Split have jurisdiction. If you are a consumer in the EU, you keep the protection of the mandatory laws of the country where you live.
